    You can profit during any economy, IF you understand the sales process, AND you have the right sales tools and training.

    Sales Process

    Early on in my sales career, I discovered the steps to a sale while working door to door selling books. Working for one of the largest publishers in the world, we attended sales school and learned the sales process.

    The process is simple, but has gotten convoluted over time with the advent of the digital age. Many older sales people just haven’t adapted to change and are unwilling to learn how they can profit by using the proper tools.

    With so many tools out there, it’s hard to know what works, and most get bogged down with the learning curve.

    In any business, without sales, there are no profits. Having a process is as simple as following the steps of a sale.

    Steps To A Sale

    At the end of the day, you have to prospect and make calls to get in front of buyers. There’s a way to automate this using the proper sales tools.

    Once you’re in front of a prospect you have to build rapport and trust. Email marketing has become the method of choice, but requires expert copyrighting skills to get read.

    There is no legitamate sale if the buyer does not have a reason or need to buy. The buyer may not always recognize the need, so the salesperson will have to ask the right questions for the buyer to understand the problem and establish this need.

    After they feel comfortable, a proper demonstration of how your product or service will benefit them and help them achieve their goal, is key to letting them buy.

    If you’ve completed the other steps correctly, they will want to buy without any arm twisting. Closing is completing the sale.

    More often than not, the last step is left out. Cementing the sale allows the salesperson solidify the purchase and ensure future sales.

    Profits from Sales

    You may have heard the old adage, volume, volume volume.

    Of course a business can profit by increasing their sales volume, but this isn’t always the best strategy for earning profits.

    In our business for instance, we’ve learned less is more. Instead of competing on price, we’ve learned to focus on serving a specific audience.

    And, the flipside of profits is expenses. Most businesses can reduce expenses in some ways, which in turn can help maximize profits.

    Tools For the Modern Economy

    Over the years, I’ve used most every sales tool out there. In many cases, just good old fashioned pen and paper can be efficient, but scaling often requires sophisticated tools.

    Tracking calls, demonstrations and sales is essential if you want to improve. There has to be a goal or a reason for the salesperson or owner to increase.

    Increasing efficiency leads to higher profits. Today’s economy requires modern day sales tools.

    Prospects and buyers are using tools to help them locate the products and services they want and need. So, businesses must adapt to their desires for an easy buying experience.

    Software is one of these tools, but again complexity can ruin the experience. A good sales and marketing tool will enable you and minimize the learning curve with proper training.

    The Digital Economy

    If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that the digital economy is alive and well. Many businesses increased their profits while others failed.

    How To Take Advantage of Opportunity and Achieve Success

    If you learn to recognize and take advantage of the right opportunities you can achieve success in life.

    This Opportunity Road Trip was a huge success.

    On the road for a week we were networking, planting seeds and launching new businesses. Everywhere we went, people were excited to learn about the business opportunity we were sharing.

    The trip began in Covington, LA and I joined my friend, Captain Jack, in Ocean Springs, MS. From there our first stop was Gainesville, GA. Everywhere we went people were friendly and excited to hear about what we were doing. We were just having fun, reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones.

    While in Georgia we did a little fishing on Lake Lanier. Now I’m really not much of a fisherman, but when you have a great guide like Randy Dover, even a novice can get lucky. That’s how I achieved success and hooked this 25 pound striped bass! Check it out.

    After we left Georgia we headed towards the mountains and stopped in Chattanooga, TN where we met some good people. We then traveled to Knoxville, which is such a great city with much to do and service minded volunteers. Here’s more from Knoxville in a quick video.

    Opportunity is Everywhere

    When we arrived in Nashville we were amazed at the growth going on there. The Music City is alive and opportunity is everywhere. We had close to twenty people at an impromptu party, and everyone was amazed by what we were sharing. Lives are being changed here and entrepreneurs are seizing the opportunities.

    So by now you’re probably wondering, what does catching Striped Bass and visiting Music City have to do with you? Well maybe nothing… but I think they can tell you a lot.

    You see while I was fishing, I noticed that our master guide had lots of things going on. He was navigating our boat in zig-zag motions as he glanced back and forth between his depth finder and sonar. Meanwhile he was strategically casting lines and giving us as many opportunities to catch large fish as possible. He was continuously watching each line to alert us of any possible bites and telling us when to reel them in, and when to be patient.

    That’s what makes a person successful in business and sales. You have to increase your probability for success by reaching out to as many people as possible. You have to take advantage of opportunity, and take action!

    In Nashville, the skyline is full of cranes. Buildings are going up everywhere downtown, and businesses are capitalizing on the opportunity. When businesses are left alone to grow based on the market, they will flourish as long as long they pay attention to the indicators. The indicators are everywhere, we just have to look for them.

    Marketing and Selling

    One indicator of our economy is the growth in network marketing and direct selling.  As a whole, the MLM industry is larger than most others, with over $34 BILLION in retail sales. And, according to the Direct Selling Association (DSA) in 2021 there were over 7 MILLION distributors in the USA alone. Yet, the market is wide open and poised for explosive growth.
